As Congress President I would like to take this opportunity to invite you attend the most-important phlebological meeting of the decade.

The Congress will present the most extensive and comprehensive scientific program concerning the diagnosis and management of venous and lymphatic disease and will include over 200 international experts addressing the full spectrum of topics in Phlebology, with JJ Guex serving on the Scientific Program Committee. Formats include: topical didactic sessions; daily “Ask the Experts” sessions; debates; daily keynote presentations; and thrice-daily free paper and daily poster sessions. “Hands on training” will be available for skills ranging from sclerotherapy and compression to IVC filter insertion and iliac vein stenting.

Nearly 500 abstracts for oral and electronic poster presentations, both of which will be judged throughout the week, with the highest-scoring presentations eligible for cash prizes. The top poster presentations will also be given an opportunity to do a podium presentation during a plenary session on Friday, September 13, 2013.
Boston is among the most historic, scenic and pedestrian-friendly cities in the United States. A complete social program will take full advantage of the many opportunities Boston has to offer and the colorful New England autumn.

On behalf of the American College of Phlebology, I extend a warm welcome and look forward to seeing you in Boston at the XVII UIP World Congress. The program is available on the meeting website: www.uip2013.org.IUP 2013
