The Canadian Society of Phlebology is a not-for-profit scientific and educational organization consisting of approximately 150 members with vein disease-related interests.
The Society’s main objective is to advance the study and treatment of venous disease based on the science of phlebology. Other purposes are to encourage research, disseminate information through publications and journals, inform the public about vein disease management, hold meetings devoted to scientific and technical papers, and cooperate with educational institutions, and other organizations having similar purposes.
As a member, you can directly influence the future of phlebology through its development, public information efforts, paper presentations, meeting organization and attendance, and committee and steering group participation. CSP membership provides opportunities for professional expression and recognition and gives you the chance to share experience with colleagues from Canada and outside Canada.

Fellow Members are recognized for their substantial commitment and contribution to the specialty of phlebology after they have completed the training requirements certifying competence in phlebology according to the Society’s standards.
In order to become a Fellow of the CSP, trainees must:
- Be licensed to practice medicine,
- Complete a phlebology curriculum which includes medical, interventional and surgical aspects of phlebology.
The Curriculum comprises of medical, interventional and surgical aspects of phlebology.
- Medical: venous incompetence, thromboembolic disease, chronic venous disorders, and visual sclerotherapy.
- Interventional: guided-sclerotherapy, endovenous laser and radio-frequency ablations.
- Surgical: minimally invasive surgical procedures.
Programs:
- Part I-A: Basic Ultrasound
- Part I-B: Advanced Ultrasound
- Part II : Visual and Interventional Sclerotherapy
- Part III: Endovenous Laser and Radio-Frequency Ablations and Surgical Techniques
Credits to different parts of the program are awarded at annual meetings and courses.
